Apprentice Fire Technician (Junior Fire Technician)

About the role

Fire protection isn't something people grow up dreaming about, but it should be. Every building needs it, the work never dries up, and good techs are hard to find. We want to train the next one, and it could be you.

We're a small-to-medium company with a fast-moving crew and a family feel. We back each other in, we have a laugh and we care about whether you're happy. You won't just be a number here, and you won't be stuck sweeping floors for two years. We'll actually teach you the job.

Key responsibilities

• $60,000 per year, which is well above your typical apprentice wage
• Company car and fuel card
• Full-time, paid traineeship: earn while you learn
• Complete your Certificate II in Fire Protection (Inspection and Testing)
• Uniform, PPE and tools supplied
• A clear pathway to Cert III and a fully qualified fire technician role

What you'll be doing:

• Testing fire alarm systems
• Project installation fire alarm systems
• Inspection and repairs of passive fire systems
• Inspection and testing of fire equipment
• Working across a portfolio based mostly around Melbourne Metro, with some regional travel thrown in
• Logging results and defects properly, because doing it right matters

About you

• No experience needed, just the right attitude

• Must be driven, ready to learn a new trade

• Turn up on time, ready to work, every time (non-negotiable)

• Current driver's licence

• Comfortable on ladders and working at heights

• Keen to learn and happy to ask questions
