Apprentice Geologist

We are seeking experienced CDL/Hazmat-certified operators to safely transport, set up, and operate our two larger wireline units.

The ideal candidate is a safety-focused, mechanically inclined operator who is comfortable handling large specialized equipment and working in a field environment. Previous wireline experience is a plus, but we are primarily looking for individuals with the right driving credentials, equipment-operating ability, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn our specific wireline operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate and transport the company’s two larger wireline units
• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and equipment inspections.
• Safely position and set up equipment at job sites.Operate wireline units according tocompany procedures and job requirements.
• Assist with rig-up and rig-downactivities.
• Monitor equipment during operations and identify potential mechanical or operational issues.
• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
• Maintain required DOT, vehicle, equipment, and job-site documentation.
• Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, and customer safety requirements.Communicate effectively with field supervisors, customers, and other crew members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Travel to job sites as required.Perform other duties related to field operations as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CDL.
• Current Hazmat endorsement.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Demonstrated experience operating large trucks, specialized equipment, or heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver large equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a field team.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn company-specific wireline equipment and procedures.
• Ability to travel and work extended hours as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous wireline experience.
• Oilfield or energy-services experience.
• Experience operating specialized service trucks or large mobile equipment.
• Experience working on active job sites.
• Mechanical or diesel experience.
• Previous experience with wireline units or similar specialized equipment.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and handle equipment and materials as required.
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, vehicles, and industrial operations.
• Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and travel as operational needs require.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
