Apprentice Industrial Electrician

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Apprentice Industrial Electrician to join our industrial maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventative Maintenance: Assist in routine inspections and servicing of sawmill machinery, including high-voltage electric motors, hydraulic power packs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and heavy conveyors.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Work alongside qualified electricians to diagnose and repair electrical faults, reducing production line downtime.
• System Installations: Learn to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to run conduit, pull heavy industrial cabling, and wire control panels.
• PLC & Automation: Gain exposure to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automated sensor systems responsible for log scanning and sorting lines.
• Safety First: Maintain a spotless, organized workspace and adhere strictly to industrial lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols and safety regulations.

What We Are Looking For:

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with an eagerness to learn complex automated machinery.
• Ability to interpret or learn to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment (exposure to wood dust, loud noises, and varying outdoor/indoor temperatures).
• Reliable team player with strong communication skills and an excellent work ethic.
