About the role

Apprentice Saw/Maintenance Technician with Maintech Tasmania, a leading provider of onsite service and maintenance solutions for sawmills and private companies. You will undertake 4 years of training in saw and knife sharpening and maintenance, partnering with customers and other trade people to diagnose and repair machine centers to minimize downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Technical service repairs and maintenance of bandsaw and circular saws
• Saw sharpening and diagnosing machinery faults onsite and in a workshop environment
• Welding and general repair work, including pneumatic and hydraulic diagnosing and repair
• Quality assurance auditing and performance of saw and machinery accuracy
• Partner with customers and other trade people to diagnose and repair machine centers

About you

• Secondary education in maths, English and science required to complete the 4 years training
• Work experience in a trade setting an advantage
• Interest in pneumatics and hydraulics an advantage
• Pass a pre-employment medical
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Fault finding experience
