JOB PURPOSE

To provide aspiring Chartered Accountants with structured practical training and hands-on exposure to finance and accounting operations at Descon Engineering Limited, an ICAP-registered training organization. The role develops technical accounting expertise, analytical capability, and professional competence through involvement in financial reporting, taxation, audit, budgeting, and internal control activities, in accordance with applicable ICAP training requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and periodic financial summaries to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Reconciliations & Closing: Perform general ledger reconciliations and support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring complete and accurate financial records.
• Budgeting & Analysis: Support budgeting, cost analysis, financial planning, and variance analysis to facilitate effective financial decision-making.
• Tax, Compliance & Audit: Assist in taxation, statutory compliance, and audit activities; prepare supporting documentation and coordinate with auditors and relevant stakeholders.
• Controls & Review: Review financial transactions and supporting documents to ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards.
• AI & Automation: Leverage AI tools, automation, ERP systems, and MS Excel to streamline financial analysis, reporting, and documentation, and identify opportunities to automate routine finance processes.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Job-Specific Skills

• Fundamental knowledge of accounting and finance.
• Understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Basic understanding of taxation and audit concepts.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is an advantage.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Qualification : CA Inter / CAF Qualified (ICAP).
• Preference : Candidates with the latest FTS are preferred.
