Your new role
An exciting opportunity exists for an APS5 Enquiries Officer to join a high-performing team responsible for managing enquiries and supporting the administration of a national regulatory program.
In this role, you will manage a shared enquiries mailbox, researching and responding to stakeholder and public enquiries via email. You will investigate complex issues, interpret legislation, policies and technical guidance materials, and provide accurate, timely and customer-focused advice.
You will also contribute to maintaining enquiry tracking and reporting systems, support continuous improvement initiatives, and assist with regulatory assessment activities during peak periods. Working closely with colleagues across the program area, you will play an important role in ensuring consistent, transparent and high-quality service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and triaging enquiries received through a shared mailbox.
- Researching and preparing accurate, risk-based responses.
- Maintaining enquiry records and reporting data.
- Providing guidance on system processes and account-related matters.
- Supporting compliance and assessment activities in line with legislation and procedures.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve complex matters.
- Contributing to a positive and productive team culture.

- Strong research, investigation and analytical skills.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- High attention to detail and sound judgement.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience working within a regulatory, compliance, customer service, administration or government environment.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Relevant qualifications in public administration, government, engineering, energy, regulatory compliance or a related discipline will be highly regarded but are not essential.
A Baseline Security Clearance is essential for this role.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will secure a rewarding and long-term opportunity within a Federal Government organisation working on nationally significant initiatives. You'll join a collaborative and supportive team environment, gain exposure to regulatory and policy frameworks, and further develop your stakeholder engagement, analytical and administrative expertise.
- Attractive APS5 hourly rate
- Long term, full-time opportunity.
