APS6 Training Specialist

Location: Canberra, ACT and Melbourne, VIC
Duration: 9 months with 2 x 6-month extension opportunities 
Hourly rate: $60 - $68 per hour
Clearance: Baseline 

About the Role
Our federal government client is seeking an experienced Training Specialist to support the delivery of a significant regulatory reform program. This role focuses on planning, coordinating and delivering engaging training and capability-building activities that help stakeholders understand new legislation, business processes and systems.

Working within a fast-paced project environment, you will collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to deliver high-quality learning experiences across a range of audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging training sessions, workshops and briefings in both virtual and face-to-face settings.
• Develop and facilitate learning activities that support organisational change and capability uplift.
• Coordinate training logistics, communications and learner support activities.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Monitor participant feedback and evaluate training effectiveness.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of training materials and resources.

About You:

• Experience delivering instructor-led training, workshops or capability development programs.
• Strong facilitation, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to communicate complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
• Experience evaluating training outcomes and implementing continuous improvements.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and operational teams.

Desirable Experience

• Experience supporting regulatory reform, government programs or large-scale organisational change initiatives.
• Experience developing and delivering training relating to new business processes or technology systems.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and contemporary training methodologies.
• Relevant qualifications in training, learning and development, education or a related discipline.
