Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Curriculum

Plan and deliver engaging Islamic Education lessons for non-Arabic speaking students, following the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum for Islamic B . Teach core topics including Quranic recitation and memorization (Tajweed), Seerah (Prophetic biography), Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Tawheed (Islamic monotheism), and Islamic history and ethics . Use a variety of instructional strategies to cater to different learning styles and abilities, including discussion, group work, and digital tools . Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners, including students with varying levels of Arabic/English proficiency and those with special educational needs . Foster moral and spiritual development, critical thinking about Islamic values, and promote the UAE's national identity and cultural heritage .

Assessment and Student Development

Assess, record, and report on student progress regularly using formative assessments (e.g., classwork, homework, participation) and summative assessments (e.g., tests, projects, examinations) . Provide constructive, timely, and meaningful feedback to students to support their improvement and build their confidence . Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress .

School Community and Extracurricular Activities

Collaborate with colleagues in the Islamic Department and across the school to plan schemes of work, share best practices, and support cross-curricular initiatives . Organise and lead extracurricular activities such as Quran recitation competitions, Islamic quiz bowls, or cultural events . Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, upcoming events, and strategies for support . Uphold and actively promote safeguarding, child protection, and behaviour management policies at all times .

Qualifications and Experience

Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Islamic Studies, Sharia, Islamic Education, or a closely related field . Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE, QTS, Diploma in Education, or equivalent) . Minimum 2 3 years of full-time teaching experience in a school setting . Strong subject knowledge in Islamic Studies, with a passion for Islamic education . Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills . Excellent spoken and written English . A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children .
