Arborist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Arborist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tree care, pruning, and removal, with a focus on safety and precision. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, utilizing specialized equipment to maintain and enhance tree health and landscape aesthetics. The Arborist will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, health, and beauty of trees within residential, commercial, and municipal environments.

Duties

• Perform tree pruning, trimming, and planting care to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal
• Conduct tree removal operations using rigging techniques and bucket trucks with safety protocols in mind
• Utilize chainsaws and other arborist equipment for cutting, shaping, and removing trees or branches
• Apply arborist rigging techniques to safely lower large limbs or entire trees during removal or maintenance projects
• Operate bucket trucks for elevated work at various heights while adhering to safety standards
• Implement plant pruning care to improve tree structure and prevent hazards
• Use GIS tools for mapping and planning landscape projects when applicable
• Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care and general horticulture as needed
• Follow all safety protocols rigorously during outdoor work activities to prevent accidents or injuries
• Maintain tools and equipment in excellent condition for optimal performance

Qualifications

• Proven experience in arboriculture, tree care, or related outdoor work environments
• Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques, tree removal procedures, and safety protocols
• Proficiency with bucket trucks, chainsaws, rigging gear, and other arborist tools
• Familiarity with GIS applications for landscape planning is a plus
• Strong understanding of horticulture, dendrology (tree science), and plant pruning care
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and working at heights using bucket trucks or ladders
• Outdoor work experience in diverse weather conditions with a focus on safety and efficiency
• Growing experience in landscaping or land management is advantageous
• Valid certifications related to tree care or climbing safety are preferred but not mandatory
