Architect - BCP / DR

Tata Semiconductor Assembly & Test (TSAT) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing in IC & SMT Packages.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Packaging facility . This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Job Summary The Storage and Backup Lead is responsible for managing enterprise storage, backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity environments. The role ensures availability, protection, recoverability, and compliance of organizational data through effective management of NetApp storage platforms and Commvault backup solutions.

Key Responsibilities Operational Management

• Lead Storage, Backup and Recovery operations.
• Administer NetApp storage infrastructure and Commvault backup platform.
• Ensure backup, restore, replication and archival processes meet business requirements.
• Monitor storage utilization, infrastructure health and backup success rates.
• Drive incident resolution, root cause analysis and performance optimization.

Storage Management

• Manage NetApp storage provisioning, capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Administer NAS, SAN, CIFS, NFS and block storage environments.
• Plan and execute storage upgrades, migrations and refresh projects.
• Manage storage replication and data protection requirements.

Backup & Recovery Management

• Administer Commvault backup and recovery solutions.
• Maintain backup policies, retention schedules and archival strategies.
• Conduct restore validation and recovery testing.
• Protect physical, virtual and cloud workloads.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

• Lead BCP and DR initiatives.
• Define and maintain RTO and RPO targets.
• Coordinate DR drills and recovery simulations.
• Maintain DR runbooks and recovery procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

Experience

• 8 -12+ years in Backup/Storage/DR/BCP solutions with 2–5 years in a architect role in manufacturing-based environments.

Key Interaction Requirements

• With DRI from all internal units - to understand and fulfil IT related business requests, troubleshoot any issues they report.
• With Other Internal Digital Teams to understand and fulfil IT related business requests & collaborate with them to troubleshoot
• With Internal Teams to handle operations management
• With external OEM/Vendors to troubleshoot, support, Service level reviews & escalations.
