Architect

Applications are invited for the position of Architect in the Commercial sector of our leading international architectural practice.

Summary

An Architect is responsible to develop and deliver thoughtful, design-led solutions across all project stages. They should bring excellent design strength and creative leadership to their work. They report to the Senior Architect, Associate and/or Director to design and deliver projects through all stages. They will work on a project team and mentor junior employees. They will ensure coordination of information from the Design Team and other project consultants. They are responsible for meeting project deliverables and reporting issues to their manager. They can confidently support and contribute to submissions, proposals, tenders and business development opportunities.

Location: Works four days in the office or on site as per Company policy.

Experience

An Architect has experience working across a range of project stages. They have achieved successful outcomes in projects they have worked on. They have a developing knowledge of regulatory compliance for designing buildings. They have demonstrated a consistently good level of design, skill and technical capability.

Qualifications / Skills

• Bachelor or higher degree of Architecture or industry-related equivalent and a minimum of 2-3 years of post-qualified experience.

• Proficient experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Sketchup modelling.

• Familiar with current Building Planning Regulations and the application of these and similar variations internationally.

• Cross-sector project experience in technical knowledge and understanding.

Years of experience are provided as a guideline; greater weight will be placed on the individual’s proven ability to demonstrate and execute the role.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Actively participate in industry events to represent and promote the practice and build industry networks.

• Make conscious efforts to build relationships with external stakeholders.

• Support and contribute to submissions, proposals, tenders and business development opportunities

• Lead the development of architectural designs, from initial concepts to detailed design.

• Perform Architectural design work across several disciplines in 2D/3D integrated design systems.

• Lead Design Team meetings and liaise, coordinate project information with external consultants.

• Manage projects across all RIAI stages, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

• Supervise and mentor junior employees, including Graduate Architects and Interns.

• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations.

• Assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.

• Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.

• Conduct site visits including, overseas travel to provide construction, technical and architectural support in line with agreed project scope.

• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to maintain quality standards.
