Architect

About the role

As an integral member of the Project Team, your job as an Architect is to assist in generation of ideas and advise team members on technical design considerations throughout the entire project lifecycle of highly complex projects. Your technical knowledge and skills are necessary to the successful outcome of the project as early as pre-schematic phases and through to Construction services. With emphasis on architectural design, technical data and processes, and quality control, you will work closely with designers and project managers to ensure design integrity can and will be maintained at all stages of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers, Senior Project Architect, Senior Designers and other design staff to troubleshoot and provide technical solutions for design challenges
• Review and coordinate with all consultants including structural and MEP consultant's work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents
• Participate in preparation of drawings, detailing and construction documentation for pricing and construction
• Ensure design complies with all applicable building codes and standards, helping other architects and designers to take these restrictions into consideration during design phases
• Strong written and communication skills internally and externally with consultants

About you

• 8-10 years' experience working in an architectural firm in a similar capacity
• Bachelor's degree in architecture from a college/university of well repute
• Master's degree in architecture would be a plus
• Proficiency in AutoCad is required and proficiency in Sketchup and Revit BIM would be a plus
• Knowledge and experience with common software such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and Adobe Photoshop
• Knowledge of sustainable and carbon neutral/positive architecture, LEED AP and WELL AP would be a plus
• Portfolio of technically complex designs
• Able to quickly and readily generate concepts and technical details with minimal oversight for architectural design build projects using advanced skills in Revit BIM, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite
• Architectural design and planning skills along with technical detailing skills
• Willing to travel to different work locations
