Job Summary

Al Bahri Engineering Consultancy & Interior Design is seeking a qualified and creative Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing architectural designs, preparing technical drawings, coordinating with engineering disciplines, and ensuring that projects comply with applicable UAE building regulations and authority requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong design and technical skills, proficiency in architectural software, and experience working on architectural projects within the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architectural Design & Planning

• Develop architectural concepts, schematic designs, space plans, and detailed design proposals based on project requirements.
• Prepare architectural layouts, floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
• Ensure designs meet client expectations, functional requirements, aesthetic standards, and project specifications.
• Review site conditions and incorporate relevant findings into architectural designs.

2. Technical Drawings & Documentation

• Prepare and review detailed architectural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant design software.
• Develop design development packages, construction drawings, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure drawings and documents are accurate, complete, and issued within agreed project deadlines.

3. UAE Regulations & Authority Approvals

• Ensure architectural designs comply with applicable UAE building codes, planning regulations, fire and life safety requirements, and accessibility standards.
• Assist in preparing and submitting drawings and documentation for approvals from relevant authorities.
• Address authority comments and coordinate the necessary design revisions.
• Maintain updated knowledge of applicable building regulations and authority requirements in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

4. Project Coordination & Site Support

• Coordinate with engineers, interior designers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical clarification on architectural drawings and design specifications.
• Conduct site visits and inspections, where required, to monitor compliance with approved drawings and design intent.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, and technical documents as assigned.
• Identify design discrepancies and recommend practical solutions.

5. Client Communication & Project Delivery

• Understand client requirements and translate them into practical architectural solutions.
• Present design concepts, drawings, and revisions to clients and project teams.
• Incorporate client feedback while maintaining compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
• Manage multiple assignments and ensure timely delivery of project documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or an equivalent recognized qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant architectural experience, preferably within the UAE.
• Experience in an architectural consultancy or engineering consultancy is preferred.
• Familiarity with UAE building regulations and authority approval procedures.
• Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, construction detailing, and building materials.
• Experience coordinating with structural and MEP engineering teams.
• Relevant UAE professional registration or authority eligibility, where required for the role.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows is an advantage.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, 3ds Max, Lumion, Enscape, or other visualization tools is an advantage.
• Ability to prepare architectural drawings, presentations, and technical documentation.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
