Role: Architect - Design Engineer

Work Location: Palavaram, Chennai

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and review architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, room data sheets and finish schedules.
• Prepare space plans and building layouts considering process flow, equipment access, personnel movement, maintenance and future expansion.
• Coordinate architectural design with civil, structural, HVAC, electrical, fire protection, piping, utilities and process-equipment requirements.
• Review BEC consultant, contractor and vendor drawings; consolidate comments and track closure of review points.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building, fire-life-safety, accessibility, industrial and local statutory requirements.
• Participate in BIM/model reviews, clash-detection sessions, constructability reviews and 30%, 60% and 90% design reviews.
• Prepare and maintain design registers, material/finish specifications, design-change records and as-built documentation.
• Provide site support for architectural works, resolve technical queries and verify installation against approved drawings.
• Coordinate sample, material and mock-up reviews and support quality inspections and handover documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch). Valid professional registration where legally required.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant design and engineering experience in industrial or EPC projects.
• Experience in solar manufacturing, semiconductor, battery, pharmaceutical, chemical, power, oil & gas or comparable manufacturing facilities is preferred.
• Experience in both design-office coordination and site/construction support is desirable.
