Architect – Modular Integrated Construction (MiC)

Chevalier (Construction) Company Limited has actively participated in many development projects in Hong Kong since the 1980s. Those projects include the redevelopment of public housing estates, the Private Sector Participation Scheme for the Hong Kong Housing Authority, construction of school buildings for primary, secondary and tertiary institutes, and a range of commercial, industrial, residential and shopping arcade projects for the private sector.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of MiC developments, leading feasibility studies, schematic design, and detailed design development for domestic and international markets
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including in-house engineering staff, external consultants, local and international contractors, as well as factories
• Prepare technical design proposals for clients, project stakeholders, and site management personnel
• Monitor off-site module fabrication through regular factory inspections and review contractor’s submissions to ensure compliance with statutory building codes
• Review and propose innovative design solutions to address project challenges

Requirements

• Professional registration with the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in architectural design, with prior practical application of MiC highly preferred
• Thorough knowledge of Design & Build procurement routes and local government submission procedures
• Availability to undertake overseas business travel and factory visits as required
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite, with knowledge of BIM (Revit) and 3D modeling (SketchUp, Rhino) would be an advantage
• Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
• Ability to work independently with high reliability
• Knowledge of Australian building standards and statutory processes is preferred
