Architectural Designer

Role Overview:
We are seeking an Architectural Designer with a background in Architecture to join Propel Design, our design team serving landscaping, construction and renovation businesses across Australia and New Zealand. You'll turn client briefs into landscape presentation plans, floor plans, interior layouts and photorealistic 3D visualisations. This role focuses on creative design execution and technical accuracy, working closely with clients and our internal design team.

Candidate Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent architectural qualification.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience, with proven understanding of architectural design phases, drawing revisions, and technical documentation.
• Software: Strong hands-on proficiency in SketchUp and AutoCAD.
• Preferred: Experience with a rendering tool such as Lumion, D5 Render, Enscape or V-Ray, and with landscape or outdoor living design.

Architectural Design & Project Coordination
The designer is responsible for supporting design development across all project stages, from concept to final walkthrough, ensuring design integrity, technical accuracy, and clear communication.

Design & Asset Management

• Prepare 2D landscape presentation plans, including plant schedules, plant palettes and material palettes.
• Produce detailed floor plans and interior layouts with dimensions, furniture placement and space planning.
• Create 3D models in SketchUp and technical drawings in AutoCAD for landscapes, outdoor living areas, home exteriors and interiors.
• Produce photorealistic day and evening renders, including before-and-after visualisations and walkthrough videos.
• Ensure consistency in design intent and aesthetic standards across all project collateral and presentations.
• Organize and maintain design assets, CAD files, render libraries, and finish schedules.

Design Milestone Tracking

• Track design stages, drawing revisions, and design approvals to ensure deliverables are completed within agreed turnaround times.

Client Liaison

• Review client briefs, site photos and measurements, and coordinate with clients on design-related queries and revisions.
• Prepare design proposals and design documentation aligned with our quality standards.

Design Presentations & Proposals

• Draft, format, and compile presentation boards, mood boards, design intent documents, and project proposals for client pitches.
