Architectural Designer/ Draftsperson

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Residential Designer / Draftsperson to join our custom home design team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential design and drafting and be able to develop projects from initial design concepts through complete construction drawings.

This position will be involved in all phases of the design process, including floor plan development and space planning, exterior elevations, roof design, site planning, electrical plans, detailing, dimensioning, and preparation of construction documents.

The ideal candidate is proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD or other drawing softwares, has a strong understanding of residential construction and design, and enjoys working collaboratively with a team to create thoughtful, functional, and well-designed custom homes.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom residential floor plans and space planning, with careful consideration of functionality, circulation, proportions, and overall design.
• Design and coordinate exterior elevations and roof plans, ensuring consistency between all aspects of the home.
• Prepare accurate and detailed construction drawing sets, including dimensioned floor plans, foundation and roof plans, electrical plans, building sections, details, schedules, and other required drawings.
• Prepare and coordinate site/lot plans, including home placement, property lines, setbacks, easements, and other site-specific requirements.
• Coordinate architectural elements throughout the project, including doors, windows, ceiling heights, stairs, cabinetry, fixtures, appliances, and other residential design components.
• Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, coordination, and completeness, and make revisions based on client feedback, internal design reviews, and project requirements.
• Collaborate with the design team and coordinate information from engineers, surveyors, builders, consultants, and other project professionals as needed.
• Research and incorporate applicable building requirements, HOA/deed restrictions, setbacks, and other project-specific requirements.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining organized project files and company drafting standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in residential design, architectural drafting, custom home design, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD or other drawing software; experience with current versions of Revit is strongly preferred.
• Not required but we are interested in Sketch-Up, Twin Motion, etc. knowledge and experience
• Ability to develop residential projects from initial design concepts through complete construction documents.
• Strong understanding of residential floor planning, exterior design, roof design, construction methods, materials, and building terminology.
• Ability to read and interpret surveys, site plans, and construction documents.
• Strong knowledge of residential dimensioning, detailing, annotation, and construction-document standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional, and collaborative approach.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, receive feedback, and make design revisions efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
