About the role

EPITOME DESIGN STUDIO SDN. BHD. is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter to join our growing design team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in translating architectural concepts and designs into precise technical drawings and documentation. As an Architectural Drafter, you will be responsible for producing high-quality construction documents that serve as the foundation for successful building projects. Your work will be integral to our design process, ensuring that all architectural visions are accurately communicated to contractors, clients, and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections and construction details using CAD software and other design tools
• Convert preliminary sketches and design concepts from architects into comprehensive technical documentation
• Develop and maintain accurate drawing sets that comply with local building codes, regulations and industry standards
• Coordinate with architects and other design team members to ensure drawings are consistent and complete
• Produce specifications, schedules and material lists required for construction projects
• Review and update drawings in response to client feedback, revisions and design changes
• Assist in the preparation of project presentations and visual documentation for clients
• Maintain organised project files and ensure all documentation is properly archived and accessible
• Collaborate with engineers and other consultants to integrate structural, mechanical and electrical systems into architectural designs
• Support the architectural team in site visits and project coordination activities

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology or a related field
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, with demonstrated experience producing architectural drawings
• Strong knowledge of architectural drawing standards, building codes and construction practices relevant to Malaysia
• Excellent technical drawing skills with attention to precision, accuracy and detail
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications and technical documentation
• Sound understanding of building construction methods and materials
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a design team
• Proficiency in other design software such as Revit, SketchUp or Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous
• Experience with 3D modelling and rendering is preferred
• Knowledge of local planning regulations and submission requirements in Sabah is a plus
