Architectural Drafter

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Architectural Drafter Intern to join our design team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in architectural drafting, working closely with experienced professionals on real-world projects. The ideal candidate will have construction experience and proficiency with SketchUp, supporting the development of detailed architectural drawings and plans. This paid internship is designed to enhance your technical skills and understanding of architectural processes within a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Assist in creating detailed architectural drawings and plans using SketchUp and other drafting software.
• Support the development of construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
• Collaborate with architects and project teams to translate conceptual designs into precise technical drawings.
• Incorporate construction experience to ensure drawings meet building codes and standards.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute ideas for design improvements.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from senior staff.
• Maintain organized digital files of all project documentation for easy access and reference.

Experience

• Prior construction experience is highly preferred, providing practical insight into building processes.
• Proficiency in SketchUp is essential for creating accurate 3D models and visualizations.
• Basic knowledge of architectural drafting principles and building codes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and interpret project requirements.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or coursework in architecture, drafting, or related field is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
