Architectural Drafter intern

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter Intern to join our dynamic design team. As an integral part of our project workflow, you will assist in creating precise construction documents, schematics, and detailed drawings that bring architectural visions to life. Duties

• Assist in developing architectural drawings, schematics, and construction details using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, or similar programs
• Support the creation of 3D models and visualizations utilizing SketchUp, 3ds Max, Grasshopper 3D, Rhinoceros 3D, or other 3D CAD modeling tools
• Collaborate with senior architects and engineers to review building code compliance and ensure adherence to local regulations
• Prepare construction detail documentation that accurately reflects design intent and specifications
• Contribute to building information modeling (BIM) workflows for efficient project coordination and data management
• Assist in analyzing building code requirements and integrating them into design schematics
• Support drafting efforts for engineering CAD designs and graphic presentations for project proposals

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an architecture, engineering, or related program with a strong interest in architectural drafting and design
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation or equivalent; experience with 3D modeling software like SketchUp or Rhino is highly desirable
• Basic understanding of construction detail documentation and building code analysis
• Familiarity with BIM tools and processes for building information modeling
• Strong graphic design skills with attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Prior construction experience or exposure to engineering CAD design is a plus
