Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as an Architectural Detailer at Tebbens Steel LLC, located in Calverton, NY. As an Architectural Detailer, you will be responsible for creating and submittal drawings for approval by customer/architect/owner and then detailed fabrication package for shop and planning teams and generating accurate construction drawings. Your role will involve drawing and interpreting architectural plans to support the fabrication and erection of all miscellaneous metal items, with a focus on high-end architectural residential projects such as custom stairs, railings, and other intricate designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed architectural drawings for high-end residential projects, including stairs, railings, and custom furniture.
• Use AutoCAD and preferably Tekla Structures to develop accurate and precise technical drawings.
• Interpret and understand architectural and engineering design drawings and project specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure drawings are accurate and meet project requirements.
• Make necessary adjustments and modifications to drawings based on feedback and project needs.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Visit project sites to confirm dimensions, collaborate with general contractors and installation teams regarding the best design for installation.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Tekla Structures.
• Strong understanding of interpretation of design drawings.
• Experience in high-end architectural residential work, particularly with stairs, railings, and custom furniture.
• Knowledge of architecture and planning processes.
• Attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret architectural plans.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience in structural steel fabrication and familiarity with metalworking techniques is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and technologies.
