Architectural Officer/ Assistant [Immediate available]

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Architectural Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building design, statutory submissions, tender documentation, and project coordination. This role requires strong technical knowledge of Hong Kong building regulations and hands-on experience in GBP submission and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Building Design & Development

• Assist in the design and development of architectural projects from concept through to completion
• Prepare feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and detailed design proposals
• Produce architectural drawings, plans, sections, and elevations using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software

2. Statutory Submissions (GBP)

• Prepare and submit General Building Plans (GBP) to the Buildings Department and other relevant statutory authorities
• Handle submissions for planning applications, fire services, landscape, and other regulatory approvals
• Monitor submission progress and respond to authority comments and requisitions
• Ensure all designs comply with the Buildings Ordinance, relevant regulations, and codes of practice

3. Tender Preparation & Contract Administration

• Prepare tender documents, including specifications, bills of quantities, and contract conditions
• Coordinate with quantity surveyors, engineers, and other consultants in tender documentation
• Assist in the evaluation of tender submissions and prepare tender reports
• Support contract administration during the construction phase

4. Project Coordination

• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities throughout project lifecycle
• Coordinate with structural, M&E, and other engineering disciplines
• Attend and contribute to project meetings, design reviews, and site meetings
• Monitor project progress and assist in resolving technical and design issues

5. Site Support & Supervision

• Conduct site inspections to ensure works comply with approved plans and specifications
• Prepare site inspection reports and follow up on defects or non-compliance issues
• Coordinate with contractors on site queries and variation orders

Requirements:

• Masters degree in Architecture from a recognized institution (HKU, CUHK, PolyU, or equivalent)
• Minimum 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in architectural practice in Hong Kong
• Proven experience in GBP (General Building Plan) submissions to the Buildings Department
• Hands-on experience in tender preparation, including specifications and contract documentation
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office; knowledge of BIM workflows is an advantage
• Good knowledge of the Buildings Ordinance, Hong Kong Planning Standards and Guidelines, and relevant statutory requirements
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• HKIA membership or working towards full registration is preferred
