Architectural Technician

Join a collaborative construction and property development company delivering thoughtful and design led housing projects across Christchurch. We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technician who can turn design concepts into accurate, consent-ready documentation.

About the role

Working closely with our Architectural Designer, you will prepare high-quality technical drawings and documentation for residential projects. You will help coordinate information, support building consent applications and ensure each project complies with the New Zealand building code and relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, schedules and technical documentation including H1 calculations.
• Develop concept designs into coordinated construction and building consent packages.
• Coordinate input from in house development managers, engineers, consultants, and suppliers.
• Review documentation for accuracy, buildability and compliance.
• Respond to technical queries and support projects during consent and construction.

About you

• A relevant qualification in architectural technology, architecture or a related discipline.
• 2+ years experience producing technical documentation in a New Zealand architectural or construction environment.
• Working knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code, NZS 3604 and local consenting requirements.
• Proficiency in Archicad.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and a genuine interest in good design.
• The legal right to work in New Zealand.
