Role: Architectural Technician

Location: Oxfordshire

Work Pattern: Hybrid (2/3days)

Pay: £25 - £35 per hour

Contract: 12-Months

Job Role:

We're working with several respected conservation and heritage-focused practices across Oxfordshire who are seeking talented Architects to support an expanding portfolio of listed building, adaptive reuse, restoration and conservation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver heritage, conservation and listed building projects, RIBA Stages 2-5.
• Prepare planning and Listed Building Consent applications.
• Produce technical drawings, specifications and construction information.
• Liaise with clients, conservation officers and consultants.
• Undertake site surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
• Coordinate project teams and ensure technical compliance.
• Support projects through planning, design and construction stages.
• Contribute to conservation-led design and refurbishment solutions.
• Attend client, design team and site meetings.
• Assist with project delivery, programme management and stakeholder engagement.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• ARB Registered Architect, Architectural Technologist, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Demonstrable experience working on heritage, conservation, restoration or adaptive reuse projects.
• Strong understanding of listed buildings, conservation areas and heritage planning requirements.
• Experience preparing technical drawing packages across RIBA Stages 2-5.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
• Experience liaising with clients, consultants, contractors and planning authorities.
• Strong written communication skills, including preparation of planning, design and technical documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Experience preparing Listed Building Consent applications and Heritage Statements.
• Previous work with Historic England, local conservation officers and heritage stakeholders.
• BIM/Revit project coordination experience.
• Knowledge of traditional building materials and conservation-led repair techniques.
• Experience undertaking measured surveys and producing existing building records.
• Site inspection and contract administration experience.
• Passion for historic architecture and building conservation principles.
