Architectural Technician/Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Architectural Technician/Technologist to join our dynamic design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings, construction information, and design documentation to support architectural projects across a range of sectors. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative building designs while utilising industry-standard CAD software. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of UK building regulations, construction detailing, and technical design processes.

Duties

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, technical detailing packages, and construction documentation using AutoCAD and other industry-standard software.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other design consultants to produce coordinated and compliant design information.
• Assist in the preparation of Planning, Building Regulations, Tender, and Construction drawing packages in accordance with project requirements.
• Produce and coordinate technical specifications, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Support project teams through all project stages, contributing to technical design development, material selection, and construction detailing.
• Ensure all drawings and project documentation are managed and maintained in accordance with company procedures and UK industry standards.
• Assist with technical queries, drawing revisions, and coordination during the construction phase where required.

Requirements

• Proven experience using AutoCAD within an architectural or construction environment.
• Strong understanding of UK construction methods, architectural detailing, technical drawing production, and building systems.
• Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Planning requirements, British Standards, and relevant industry guidance.
• Experience producing technical drawing packages for Planning, Building Regulations, and Construction purposes.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and clients.
• A recognised qualification in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related construction discipline.
• Membership of, or working towards membership of, CIAT (Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists), would be advantageous.
• A proactive and motivated approach, with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality technical information.

Pay: £20.00-£40.00 per hour
