What they need

Alkusari Stone is a natural stone quarrying, fabrication, and supply company specializing in limestone, travertine, marble, cobblestone, and other natural stone products for high-end residential and commercial projects.

We work closely with architects, landscape architects, designers, builders, and homeowners to provide carefully selected natural stone from quarry through fabrication and installation.

We are looking for an architect, landscape architect, architectural designer, or experienced architectural professional to join our team and help bridge the gap between stone, architecture, technical documentation, and design marketing.

The Role

This position is ideal for someone who understands how architects and designers work and has a strong eye for materials, proportion, detail, and presentation.

You will work closely with our team to develop shop drawings, architectural details, stone product documentation, photography, catalogs, and marketing materials that present our stone in a way that resonates with high-end architects and designers.

This is a hands-on position with a combination of technical drawing, design, product development, photography, and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural & Technical

  • Assist in creating and developing shop drawings for custom stonework, including fireplaces, walls, flooring, masonry units, steps, coping, and other architectural elements
  • Develop architectural details and drawings for stone fabrication and installation
  • Review project drawings and help translate architectural concepts into practical stone fabrication details
  • Work with our fabrication team to understand how stone is actually cut, finished, assembled, and installed
  • Assist with custom stone design and product development
  • Help create CAD drawings, elevations, sections, details, and other technical documentation
  • Communicate with architects, designers, builders, and our internal production team regarding technical requirements

Photography & Visual Content

  • Photograph completed projects, stone installations, samples, details, textures, and fabrication
  • Help develop a high-quality photography library for our website, catalogs, social media, and architectural presentations
  • Identify compelling architectural and material details that would appeal to architects and designers
  • Assist in creating visually sophisticated presentations and project documentation

Catalog & Marketing Development

  • Help create and update product catalogs and architectural material guides
  • Develop product sheets and technical information for our stone collections
  • Help organize stone samples, photography, drawings, finishes, sizes, and applications
  • Assist in creating marketing materials specifically targeted toward architects, landscape architects, and interior designers
  • Help present our stone in a manner consistent with high-end architecture and design publications
  • Contribute ideas for new products, finishes, applications, and ways to showcase natural stone

Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in someone with a background in architecture, landscape architecture, interior architecture, architectural design, or a closely related field.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has professional experience in architecture, landscape architecture, design, construction, or a related field
  • Understands architectural drawings and construction documents
  • Has experience producing or reviewing shop drawings
  • Is comfortable working in CAD and/or architectural design software
  • Has a strong understanding of architectural materials and construction
  • Has an excellent eye for proportion, composition, texture, and detail
  • Has an interest in natural stone and architectural materials
  • Can take high-quality architectural and product photography
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Is highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Can work both independently and collaboratively
  • Is comfortable working directly with architects, designers, builders, and fabricators
  • Has a strong sense of what makes a material or project visually appealing to the architectural community

Preferred Experience

The following would be a significant advantage:

  • Architecture or landscape architecture degree
  • 2+ years of professional architectural experience
  • Experience producing shop drawings or architectural details
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with architectural photography
  • Experience creating architectural presentations, catalogs, or material boards
  • Experience working with natural stone, masonry, tile, concrete, or other architectural materials
  • Experience working with fabricators or manufacturers
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Understanding of architectural specifications and construction documentation

What Makes This Position Different

You will have the opportunity to work directly with natural stone from quarry to finished architectural product and help shape how our materials are presented to the architecture and design community.

You will be involved in both the technical side of stone and the creative side of architectural marketing—from drawing a custom limestone fireplace to photographing a completed residence and helping develop the catalog that an architect uses to select the material for their next project.

Compensation

Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

How to Apply

Please submit a resume, portfolio, and examples of architectural drawings, shop drawings, photography, or design work that demonstrate your experience.
