Architecture Specialist

Africell, the pan-African mobile telecommunications company, is recruiting a Architecture Specialist, to be based in Luanda, Africell.

Role responsibilities:

The Architecture Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and governing technology architecture solutions that align with business objectives and strategic goals. This role ensures that systems, applications, infrastructure, and integration solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective. The Architecture Specialist works closely with business stakeholders, project teams, engineers, and vendors to define architecture standards and drive successful technology transformations.

Role Outputs

• Design and maintain enterprise, solution, and technical architectures that support business requirements.
• Lead architecture reviews and ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and best practices.
• Develop architecture blueprints, roadmaps, reference models, and technical standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout project lifecycles.
• Assess emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies where appropriate.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, resilience, and governance requirements.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure successful implementation.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation and technical specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

You will work with the Africell’s teams to achieve the contribution to Africell’s mission of bringing affordable, fast, and secure mobile connectivity to millions of customers across Africa.

The ideal applicant will also have:

• 3+ years of experience in architecture, systems design, infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, or software engineering.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, data management, and application integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with digital transformation and modernization programs.
• Knowledge of DevOps, Agile methodologies, and automation technologies.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
