What they need
Kresta Blinds & Curtains
Kresta Blinds, one of New Zealand’s leading window furnishing specialists, is looking for a motivated and commercially minded Showroom Manager to lead our Wellington operation from our Johnsonville showroom.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining sales, team development, customer service, showroom operations and coordination of our local warehouse and installation activities.
For the right person, there is a genuine opportunity to grow beyond the showroom and take on broader responsibility for the Wellington business, with a pathway towards an Area Manager position.
About the Role
You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day performance of our Johnsonville showroom while working closely with our sales consultants, installers and support team.
You will be actively involved in sales, but your success won’t be measured by your own sales alone. A key part of the role is helping the whole Wellington team generate more business, improve conversion and achieve stronger results.
This is a genuinely hands-on position. Alongside sales and team leadership, you’ll be involved in the practical day-to-day running of the showroom and warehouse, including stock, incoming orders, installation coordination and customer issues.
We’re looking for someone who can lead by example, take ownership and has the ambition and commercial ability to help us grow the Wellington business.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the day-to-day operation and performance of the Johnsonville showroom
- Lead, support and motivate the Wellington sales team
- Actively contribute to sales and assist customers when required
- Help consultants improve lead follow-up, conversion and overall sales performance
- Drive team sales targets and identify opportunities to generate new business
- Ensure a high standard of customer service throughout the sales and installation process
- Oversee the presentation and organisation of the showroom and local warehouse
- Assist with receiving, checking, storing and organising incoming stock and customer orders
- Coordinate job workflow to ensure products are ready for installation or customer collection
- Work closely with installers and support teams to resolve stock, installation, service and customer issues
- Assist with scheduling and the smooth coordination of day-to-day operations
- Identify opportunities to improve our local market presence and grow the Wellington business
- Work closely with senior management on the ongoing development of the Wellington operation
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in sales, retail or business operations, ideally with previous leadership experience
- A strong salesperson who also enjoys helping others succeed
- Commercially minded and motivated by team results, not just individual sales
- Confident coaching, supporting and developing people
- Hands-on and willing to get involved in both showroom and operational tasks when needed
- Proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership
- A strong communicator who builds good relationships with customers and colleagues
- Practical and confident in solving problems
- Interested in developing into a broader regional leadership role
Experience in home improvement, interiors, furnishings or a related industry would be an advantage, but is not essential.
A valid driver’s licence is required.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary plus performance-based incentives
- Incentives designed to reward both personal contribution and overall Wellington team performance
- Support from an established national brand and experienced management team
- Training and product support
- The opportunity to make a genuine impact on the growth of our Wellington business
- A genuine pathway towards Area Manager responsibility as the business grows and you demonstrate your capability
This role would suit someone who wants more than simply managing a showroom. If you enjoy sales, developing people, solving problems and taking ownership of a business, and you're looking for an opportunity to grow into broader management responsibility, we'd love to hear from you.
Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
