AREA MANAGER

About the role

Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee multiple retail locations within the Central Visayas region. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in driving operational excellence, sales performance and profitability across our store network. As Area Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and performance optimization of assigned retail locations, ensuring consistent brand standards and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role requires a hands-on approach with the flexibility to work across multiple sites within the Central Visayas area.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of multiple retail stores, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures and brand standards
• Monitor and drive sales performance, revenue targets and profitability across assigned locations through strategic planning and team motivation
• Recruit, train, develop and manage store teams, providing coaching and performance feedback to enhance individual and team capabilities
• Conduct regular store visits and audits to ensure compliance with visual merchandising, cleanliness, safety and customer service standards
• Analyze sales data, inventory levels and financial reports to identify trends, opportunities and areas requiring improvement
• Manage budgets, control costs and implement cost-saving initiatives whilst maintaining service quality
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
• Implement promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives to maximize foot traffic and sales
• Liaise with head office departments including operations, marketing, finance and human resources to align regional performance with corporate objectives
• Lead by example, demonstrating strong work ethic, integrity and commitment to the company's values and vision

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of retail management experience, with at least 2 years in an area management or multi-site supervisory role

• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and managing P&L responsibilities

• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively

• Proficiency in retail management systems, point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and financial reports to drive business decisions

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization

• Preferred: Experience in the retail and consumer products industry and familiarity with the Central Visayas market
