Area Manager

We are seeking a results-driven and hands-on Area Manager to oversee multiple Chicking restaurant locations. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, sales growth, team development, and brand standards across all assigned stores.

You will act as the key link between store operations and senior management, ensuring consistency, profitability, and a high standard of customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple restaurant locations
• Ensure all stores meet brand standards in food quality, hygiene, and service
• Conduct regular store audits and implement corrective actions
• Maintain compliance with New Zealand food safety and employment regulations

Sales & Profitability

• Drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets across all stores
• Monitor KPIs including labour cost, food cost, and wastage
• Identify opportunities to increase average transaction value and customer frequency
• Execute local store marketing initiatives and promotions

Team Leadership & Development

• Recruit, train, and develop Restaurant Managers and key team members
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results
• Conduct performance reviews and implement development plans
• Ensure proper staffing levels and workforce planning

Customer Experience

• Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently delivered
• Handle escalated customer complaints professionally and efficiently
• Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements

Financial & Administrative Control

• Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting for assigned stores
• Ensure accurate stock control, inventory management, and ordering processes
• Oversee payroll compliance including time and attendance accuracy

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in multi-site management within QSR or hospitality
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Solid understanding of financials (P&L, labour cost, food cost control)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Full driver’s licence and willingness to travel
