Position Summary:

Patco Brands is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead commercial performance across Texas within our Central Division. Reporting directly to the Texas Region Manager, this remote-based role will manage day-to-day relationships with wine and spirits wholesalers and beer distributors, strengthen retail execution, and accelerate growth in the rapidly expanding pre-mixed cocktails category.

The Area Manager is responsible for achieving distribution and growth objectives through strong key-account and distributor management, strategic planning, and disciplined market execution. This is a highly visible role for a proven seller who understands the three-tier system, uses data to build accountability, influences wholesaler execution, wins with chain buyers, and converts programs into retail placements.

Success requires close collaboration with distributor leadership and sales teams, Patco National Account Managers, Marketing, Logistics, and senior leadership to align programming, execution, and supply with regional priorities.

What Sets This Role Apart

This role offers ownership of area results, the autonomy to make an immediate impact, and the support to lead field execution, expand distribution, sell directly to key accounts, and strengthen retailer and distributor partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day relationships with assigned Texas wine and spirits wholesalers and beer distributors.
  • Deliver area volume, distribution, revenue, and profit objectives.
  • Conduct business reviews and hold distributor partners accountable.
  • Grow distribution by selling directly to new and existing key accounts.
  • Convert chain authorizations and commitments into distributor and retail execution.
  • Develop and execute distributor programs aligned with brand priorities.
  • Track distributor performance through data-driven scorecards.
  • Execute Patco pricing and promotional strategies accurately.
  • Analyze sales and depletion data to identify trends, strengthen selling stories, and overcome objections.
  • Lead distributor meetings, sales presentations, blitzes, surveys, and key-account drives.
  • Use POS and promotional programs to improve brand visibility and retail execution.
  • Conduct regular market visits to assess execution, secure placements, and monitor competitive activity.
  • Manage T&E and tactical budgets with financial discipline.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of beverage-alcohol sales experience, including direct distributor management.
  • Experience with wine and spirits distributors and beer wholesalers preferred.
  • Proven success growing brands through the three-tier system.
  • Experience influencing distributor sales teams and driving market execution.
  • Strong organization and follow-through across multiple wholesalers, programs, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of pricing, depletions, distributor inventory, and syndicated data.
  • Ability to translate data into compelling selling presentations and measurable distributor commitments.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, VIP, Circana, and Nielsen.
  • Ability to travel 20–30%, including overnight travel.
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Ability to lift and move product cases as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.

Salary range: $80,000-$110,000 per year.
