Arithmetic Math Instructor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Arithmetic/Abacus Math Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching mathematics and a strong ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. This role involves guiding students through fundamental arithmetic principles, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping students develop confidence in their mathematical abilities. Prior university experience is preferred, reflecting a solid understanding of the subject matter and teaching methodologies.

Duties

• Prepare and deliver engaging lessons on basic arithmetic topics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Assess student understanding through quizzes, assignments, and interactive activities.
• Provide individualized support to students needing extra help to ensure comprehension of core concepts.
• Develop instructional materials and resources tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
• Maintain a positive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes active learning.
• Collaborate with other educators to enhance curriculum effectiveness and share best practices.

Requirements

• Prior experience in teaching or tutoring mathematics, preferably at the university level or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of arithmetic principles and foundational math concepts.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas in an understandable manner.
• Passion for education and student success.
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher; university experience is highly desirable.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity and confidence in mathematics.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
