Armed Security Guard

We are looking for an experienced officer who is alert, confident, disciplined, and capable of maintaining a professional security presence. The officer will be responsible for protecting employees, customers, and property while identifying suspicious activity and responding appropriately to security incidents.

The ideal candidate will have strong situational awareness, sound judgment, excellent observation skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong and visible armed security presence
• Observe and report suspicious activity, theft, trespassing, vandalism, and other security concerns
• Monitor entrances, exits, customers, and designated high-risk areas
• Conduct regular interior and exterior security patrols
• Respond promptly and professionally to disturbances and security incidents
• Use strong verbal communication and de-escalation techniques
• Contact law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
• Communicate clearly with management and NPS Dispatch
• Complete detailed and accurate incident and activity reports
• Follow all post orders, company policies, safety procedures, and applicable laws
• Maintain proper control and security of all assigned equipment
• Arrive on time in proper uniform with all required equipment
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor throughout the shift
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid California Guard Card
• Must have a current and valid BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit
• Must have an approved and properly registered firearm suitable for duty use
• Must meet all applicable requirements to work as an armed security officer
• Must be dependable, punctual, alert, and professional
• Must demonstrate responsible firearm handling and sound judgment
• Must have strong observation and situational-awareness skills
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills required
• Must remain calm and professional during stressful or confrontational situations
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow post orders and complete reports
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Previous armed security, law enforcement, military, or retail security experience preferred
• Reliable transportation required

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
