Armed Security Officer

Job Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Armed Security Officer to uphold safety and security across our premises. This role involves actively monitoring the environment, controlling access points, and responding swiftly to incidents to ensure a secure and welcoming atmosphere. Duties

• Conduct thorough surveillance using CCTV systems and manual patrols to monitor for suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Manage access control systems to authorize entry for authorized personnel, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Perform regular patrols of the facility’s perimeter and interior to ensure physical security and identify potential hazards or vulnerabilities.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical incidents, or security threats, following established emergency response procedures.
• Write detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches, accidents, or unusual activities for record-keeping and legal purposes.
• Operate security equipment such as Tasers, firearms (where legally permitted), AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and perform first aid or CPR as needed.
• Conduct background checks on new employees or vendors as part of the screening process to ensure safety compliance.

Skills

• Proven experience in surveillance techniques, law enforcement, military service, or security roles with a focus on physical security.
• Strong knowledge of emergency response procedures including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and conflict de-escalation strategies.
• Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV monitoring, incident report writing, and compliance with security regulations.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while maintaining alertness during long shifts.
• Excellent customer service skills combined with conflict management abilities to handle difficult situations professionally.
• Skilled in performing background checks and conducting thorough security assessments.
• Proficient in using Taser devices and firearm handling where authorized by law; capable of managing high-stress scenarios effectively.
