About the Job

DataOne is hiring an Armed Security Officer to protect employees, visitors, property, and critical infrastructure at our 24/7 Tier III mission-critical facility. In this role, you’ll help maintain a safe and secure environment through access control, surveillance, patrols, and incident response. This position requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in high-pressure situations.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor site entrances, exits, and restricted areas.
• Verify credentials and control employee, visitor, vendor, and vehicle access.
• Conduct routine security patrols and monitor surveillance systems.
• Respond to alarms, security incidents, disturbances, and emergencies.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders when needed.
• Escort visitors, vendors, and high-value deliveries as required.
• Maintain and inspect assigned firearms and security equipment.
• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate security documentation.
• Communicate clearly using radio and other security communication systems.
• Participate in required security training, drills, and weapons qualifications.

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in law enforcement, military service, federal security, or a comparable professional security environment.
• NJ Armed Security Officer License (SORA).
• NJ Carry Permit.
• CPR/AED certification.
• First Aid certification.
• Defensive Tactics training/certification.
• De-escalation training/certification.
• Strong surveillance, threat assessment, radio communication, and report-writing skills.
• Strong situational awareness and ability to respond effectively under pressure.
• Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts from 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a data center, critical infrastructure, or other 24/7 environment.
• Experience with access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, or related security systems.
• Experience supporting emergency or incident response.
• Additional security or emergency-response training or certifications.

What to Expect

• Part-time, on-site position within a 24/7 Tier III mission-critical facility.
• 12-hour overnight shifts from 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
• Regular interaction with employees, visitors, vendors, emergency responders, and other security personnel.
• Required firearm licenses, permits, certifications, and weapons qualifications must be maintained.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, conduct indoor and outdoor patrols, and respond quickly and safely during security incidents or emergencies.
