Armed Security Officer

Duties

• Conduct regular patrols of the premises using CCTV surveillance and physical inspections to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security threats
• Control access points with precision, performing background checks and verifying credentials for employees, visitors, and contractors
• Respond swiftly to incidents by writing detailed incident reports and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency responders as needed
• Operate access control systems and CCTV equipment to monitor activity and ensure compliance with security protocols
• Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for security setups or emergency situations
• Execute emergency response procedures such as first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety measures to protect individuals on-site
• Manage conflict de-escalation and conflict management techniques to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining safety

Skills

• Extensive experience with surveillance systems including CCTV monitoring and access control technology
• Knowledge of law enforcement practices, security regulations, and compliance standards
• Proficiency in performing background checks and conducting thorough security screenings
• Strong ability to handle firearms responsibly with proper firearm handling training and Taser certification preferred
• Skilled in incident report writing with attention to detail for accurate documentation of events
• Excellent customer service skills combined with conflict de-escalation techniques to interact professionally with the public
• Physical fitness for patrolling duties involving heavy lifting, long periods of standing or walking, and manual handling tasks
• Familiarity with emergency response procedures including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols
