Armed Security Officer - Downey, CA

Pay: $20.50–$21.00 per hour, depending on certifications · twice-monthly pay
Schedule: part-time, Sat, Sun & Mon, 12:00–8:00 AM (24 hrs)
Location: a county maintenance yard in Downey. Best for applicants who live in or near Downey, Bellflower, Norwalk, South Gate, Paramount or Lynwood.

What you'll do

• Provide armed security for a county yard overnight
• Patrol the property on foot and check gates, fencing, vehicles and equipment
• Write clear daily activity and incident reports
• Respond to alarms and incidents, and contact police or emergency services when needed
• Provide professional, courteous service to county staff

• 18 or older (21 or older to carry a firearm under California law)
• Valid California BSIS Guard Card and BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit
• Baton permit, pepper spray certification and CPR/First Aid
• Your own duty firearm, baton and pepper spray (the company does not provide them)
• Valid California driver's license with a clean 3-year driving record
• Reliable transportation to Downey for overnight shifts
• Able to write clear reports in English and use a smartphone for daily activity reports
