Armed / Unarmed Security Officer – Vacaville, CAOverview

We are seeking dependable, professional Armed and Unarmed Security Officers for an upcoming assignment at a family-oriented entertainment facility in Vacaville, California.

This is a customer-facing security position in a busy environment. Officers are expected to maintain a professional and approachable presence while remaining alert and prepared to respond to disturbances, safety concerns, suspicious activity, and emergencies.

Strong communication, observation, de-escalation, and report-writing skills are essential. Officers must be comfortable interacting professionally with children, teenagers, parents, employees, management, and members of the public.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional and visible security presence throughout the assigned shift.
  • Maintain primary post responsibilities while remaining attentive to activity throughout the facility.
  • Conduct and document security walk-arounds approximately every 30 minutes, unless actively handling an incident or otherwise directed.
  • Observe entrances, common areas, designated exterior areas, and other assigned portions of the property.
  • Remain alert for fights, threats, disorderly conduct, suspicious behavior, unauthorized activity, safety hazards, and other security concerns.
  • Immediately report and document all incidents, disturbances, threats, suspicious activity, ejections, law-enforcement contacts, and other noteworthy events.
  • Complete clear, accurate, and timely Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and incident reports.
  • Document required patrols, observations, incidents, and significant interactions throughout the shift.
  • Promptly communicate serious incidents or unusual activity to facility management and the security chain of command.
  • Use professional verbal de-escalation techniques when addressing disputes or disruptive behavior.
  • Assist facility management with maintaining an orderly and safe environment.
  • Respond appropriately when security concerns are observed or reported.
  • Contact or assist law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical personnel when necessary and in accordance with post orders.
  • Follow all site-specific post orders, company policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and communication at all times.
  • Remain attentive and engaged while on duty. Excessive personal phone use, sleeping, abandoning an assigned post, or other conduct that interferes with security responsibilities is prohibited.

Requirements

  • Valid California BSIS Guard Card.
  • Armed applicants must possess a valid California BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit and all required credentials for armed security work.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently.
  • Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
  • Strong verbal communication and conflict-de-escalation abilities.
  • Ability to write clear and detailed security reports.
  • Must be comfortable working in a busy environment involving children, teenagers, families, and large groups.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during confrontations and emergencies.
  • Smartphone capable of completing required communications and electronic reporting.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and complete routine facility patrols.
  • Must follow established chain-of-command and reporting procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in security, hospitality security, entertainment venues, family entertainment centers, retail security, loss prevention, event security, or other customer-facing security assignments is preferred.

CPR, First Aid, and AED certification are also preferred.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for officers who understand that professional security involves more than simply standing at a post. Successful officers will be observant, proactive, approachable, dependable, and thorough with documentation.

Because this assignment is in a family-oriented entertainment environment, officers must know how to balance a strong security presence with excellent customer service and professional de-escalation.

Important: All security incidents and significant activity must be reported through the required reporting process. Officers are expected to complete scheduled 30-minute security walk-arounds unless actively responding to an incident or otherwise directed.
