Art Director

About The Role If you see the big picture, set the creative standard, and lead a team to deliver it, this role is for you. At Social Pill, you will set the visual direction for campaigns across a mix of brands, plan resources, and make sure great work goes out on time. The pace is fast, the client mix is varied, and the opportunity is real: creating work that shapes how audiences see a brand. You'll work closely with copywriters, designers, the video team, and account managers, and present ideas directly to clients.

Key Responsibilities Creative Direction

• Develop visual concepts and campaign ideas from client briefs.
• Set the look and feel for each brand across social, digital, and video.
• Review all creative output and make sure it is on-brand and client-ready.

Team Management

• Lead designers and video editors with clear direction and timely feedback.
• Set priorities, review workloads, and keep the team on track across projects.
• Mentor junior team members and help them grow.
• Work with copywriters to build ideas that combine strong visuals and strong words.
• Guide the team on using AI design tools well in everyday creative work.

Resource Planning

• Plan team capacity across clients, briefs, and deadlines.
• Assign the right people to the right projects based on skills and workload.
• Flag resource gaps early and work with leadership on hiring or freelance support.

Client & Stakeholder Work

• Present creative ideas and concepts to clients with confidence.
• Work with account managers to meet briefs, timelines, and client feedback.
• Turn around revisions quickly without losing creative quality.

Design & Quality

• Create and refine key design assets, such as campaign layouts, social creatives, and brand visuals.
• Use AI design tools to speed up ideation, concepts, and production, without losing originality or brand quality.
• Keep files, asset libraries, and brand guidelines organised.
• Stay on top of design, motion, and social trends.

Requirements

• Degree in Design (Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or similar) preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in art direction or senior design, preferably in an agency.
• A portfolio that shows range and strong concepts. We value this more than your resume.
• Hands-on experience using AI design tools (such as Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, or similar) in real client or campaign work. This is a must.
• Proven experience managing a creative team and planning resources across projects.
• Strong skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma; knowledge of After Effects or Premiere Pro is a plus.
• Good eye for typography, layout, color, and brand identity.
• Comfortable presenting ideas to clients and taking feedback.
• Organised and able to handle multiple briefs at once.
