Art Facilitator

The Creative Arts Trust has a vacancy for an Art Facilitator for our creative wellbeing programme in Oamaru. This is a part time position for 9 hours per week. The applicant must live in the Oamaru area. Travel expenses to get to the work site are not provided.

This innovative project provides weekly Creative Wellbeing Sessions for adults needing support for mental health or addiction challenges.

The creative process helps nourish and support people’s wellbeing. Bringing people together in a safe and supportive environment helps connect people with the wider community reducing isolation. This programme is about utilising creativity and community to support wellbeing.

The Art Facilitator works with a Peer Support Worker to coordinate the sessions and provide support to those attending. This is a project of Dunedin's award winning creative space, Artsenta, and its outreach programme in regional Otago.

Our ideal candidate will be

• A skilled visual artist/maker with a passion for the creative process
• Have the ability to lead creative activities in a group setting
• A skilled communicator and able to relate to a wide range of people
• Able to maintain clear personal boundaries, privacy and confidentiality
• Have competent computer skills including email, word processing and Facebook
