Art Teacher

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Art Teacher to inspire creativity and foster artistic development among young learners. In this role, you will design engaging art curricula that promote self-expression, critical thinking, and fine motor skills. Duties

• Develop and implement comprehensive art lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and curriculum goals.
• Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity, experimentation, and self-confidence in students.
• Utilize diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including hands-on activities, visual aids, and digital tools.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies.
• Assess student progress through observations, portfolio reviews, and standardized testing when applicable; provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, upcoming projects, and classroom activities to promote a collaborative learning environment.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times; maintain knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in teaching art to children, including preschool or early childhood settings.
• Strong background in curriculum development with an understanding of childhood development principles.
• Experience working with children with special needs or in early intervention programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies suitable for young learners.
• Familiarity with literacy education, math integration, and physical education as they relate to art instruction is a plus.
• Certification or training in early childhood education or preschool teaching is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Valid first aid and CPR certification; understanding of child welfare policies and mandated reporting laws.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
