Art Teacher

Job Summary

Duties

• Design and implement comprehensive art curricula tailored to different age groups, including preschool, elementary, and special education students
• Develop lesson plans that incorporate various art techniques, mediums, and cultural themes to stimulate creativity and critical thinking
• Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of children with special education requirements or early intervention programs
• Assess student progress through portfolio reviews, standardized testing, and informal evaluations, providing constructive feedback
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to support students’ overall development in childhood education and literacy education
• Organize exhibitions or displays of student artwork to celebrate achievements and boost confidence in young artists

Qualifications

• Proven experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and teaching art to children across various age groups
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, childhood development principles, and early childhood education best practices
• Experience working with children with special needs or in early intervention settings is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Montessori methods or preschool experience is a plus
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues effectively
• Ability to integrate interdisciplinary subjects such as math or physical education into art lessons when appropriate
• Knowledge of standardized testing procedures related to arts education is advantageous
• Prior experience in private school settings or daycare environments enhances suitability for this role
