Job Overview

Join Us in Our Brand-New Clinic!Healing Harmonies is growing, and we have recently moved into a beautiful, state-of-the-art clinic space in Brookfield! Our vision is for our new home to serve as a vibrant hub of safe creativity, growth, and therapeutic exploration for the entire community. To support this exciting expansion, we are seeking a passionate, well-rounded, and reliable Art Therapist to join our dynamic team of board-certified music therapists and licensed art therapists.

Our philosophy is highly client-centered. Our mission is to make quality expressive arts therapy accessible to individuals of all abilities throughout our community, empowering them to access their unique inner rhythm and make their walk through life healthier and more fulfilling.

At Healing Harmonies, you won't just practice art therapy; you'll innovate. We encourage you to think outside the box, expanding your skills to apply creative techniques with a truly diverse range of clients. This is your chance to deeply integrate your artistic intuition with your clinical expertise, leading to a profound understanding of how art can holistically transform lives by addressing clients' sensory, physiological, mental, spiritual, and cognitive well-being.

Who We Serve

We pride ourselves on serving a broad, dynamic continuum of care throughout Milwaukee, Waukesha, and surrounding counties across our clinic hub, school partner sites, community facilities, and client homes.

Our Diverse Clientele Includes:

  • Children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Adolescents and adults navigating mental health challenges and/or substance use recovery (SUD)
  • Individuals living with neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinson's) & Memory Care
  • Clients receiving hospice and end-of-life care
  • Community-based group wellness, school contracts, and in-home clients

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care & Session Facilitation: Assess client needs, construct individualized treatment plans, and facilitate evidence-based individual and group art therapy sessions across diverse care settings (clinic, schools, community sites, and client homes).
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work daily within a highly collaborative environment—both in-house alongside music therapy peers and externally with nurses, case managers, psychotherapists, and facility partners.
  • System & Contract Management: Accurately navigate documentation, scheduling, and portal systems required across our various service contracts with high attention to detail.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant documentation and treatment progress notes.
  • Travel & Community Connection: Safely commute to client homes, school partners, and community locations throughout Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.
  • Active Team Participation: Engage in weekly team meetings designed for peer consultation, interdisciplinary case troubleshooting, and shared learning.

What Helps You Succeed Here

Working across multiple community partners and diverse clinical populations is deeply rewarding, but it also comes with operational variety. Therapists who thrive at Healing Harmonies share a few key traits:

  • Anchored in the "Why": You stay grounded in the client-centered purpose behind your work. When clinical or scheduling challenges arise, your connection to client progress keeps you motivated and resilient.
  • Organizational & Systems Agility: Because we maintain a wide variety of contracts (schools, healthcare facilities, private practice), you will work across different administrative and charting systems. You take pride in staying organized, detail-oriented, and learning software tools with speed and accuracy.
  • Growth Mindset with High Support: You value high standards and accuracy, and you welcome collaboration. In turn, we provide strong mentorship, step-by-step guidance, and team backing—especially through your onboarding—so you never feel isolated in learning our processes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Art Therapy.
  • Credentials & Licensure: Current credential or active eligibility as ATR, ATRL, AT-BC, LPC-IT, LPC, and/or SAC-IT (or currently able to work toward appropriate licensure).
  • Media Proficiency: Solid art skills and knowledge of media properties, safety, and therapeutic application across diverse visual arts mediums.
  • Professional Standards: Excellent communication, time management, detail orientation, and HIPAA-compliant documentation habits.
  • Travel & Background: Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, clean driving record, active auto insurance, and ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of post-credential professional experience.
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish-speaking).

Why Join Healing Harmonies? (Benefits & Perks)

  • Therapist-Centric Leadership & Culture: Founded by a therapist to create an environment by therapists, for therapists. We foster a drama-free, collaborative culture built on humility, authenticity, professional excellence, self-care, and fun—supported by a team with 50+ years of combined experience!
  • Job Stability & Consistent Income: Transitions to a guaranteed salaried position once a full-time caseload is established (typically within 6 months), securing consistent compensation regardless of client cancellations or service types.
  • A Space to Flourish: Practice in our beautiful, newly expanded Brookfield clinic created specifically to inspire safety, artistic expression, and therapeutic progress.
  • Supervision & Licensure Support: Financial assistance and/or provided supervision hours toward ATR credentials for candidates in need.
  • Robust Professional Development: 16 paid work hours dedicated to continuing education, continuing education stipends, paid state and national membership dues, and weekly team collaboration meetings.
  • Paid Time Off & Holidays: 96 hours PTO (increasing over time), 7 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, and 12 hours of inclement weather pay.
  • Comprehensive Healthcare & Retirement: Health insurance options, defined contribution plan (dental/vision/short-term disability/life), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and a Simple IRA / 401(k) with a 3% match.
