About ArtMinds
ArtMinds is an art well-being school dedicated to creating bespoke sessions for children and adults. Through a wide range of creative activities and art mediums, our sessions provide individuals with opportunities to express themselves, build confidence, connect with others and support their overall well-being.
We work with a diverse range of clients and organisations, including schools, charities, businesses, residential homes and community groups, and pride ourselves on providing a high-quality, engaging and valuable service.
Our vision:
To work with children and adults to explore creativity and different art forms while promoting positive well-being.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and reliable Art Well-being Practitioner to join ArtMinds and help us deliver engaging art well-being sessions across a variety of settings.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, is confident communicating with different age groups and is passionate about creativity and well-being.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up, delivering and packing away art well-being sessions to a high standard
- Supporting the planning and development of creative art well-being sessions
- Preparing, organising and maintaining art materials and resources
- Ordering resources when required
- Building positive relationships with schools, organisations, clients and participants
- Supporting the growth of ArtMinds by identifying potential new clients and opportunities
- Representing ArtMinds professionally when delivering sessions in the community
Training and Development
For approximately the first 2–4 weeks, the successful candidate will shadow the Director and receive hands-on training in all aspects of the role.
Once training and mentoring have been completed, you will gradually begin delivering your own ArtMinds sessions. These may take place in settings including schools, charities, businesses, residential homes and other community organisations.
All training hours will be paid.
Hours
The role will initially offer a minimum of approximately 8 hours per week, including training and shadowing.
Following the initial training period, you will begin to develop your own timetable of sessions, with opportunities for your hours to increase as ArtMinds continues to grow.
ArtMinds also runs holiday programmes during the Easter, summer and Christmas school holidays, and availability to work during these periods will be required.
As our client base develops, there will be opportunities for additional hours and increased responsibility.
Travel
This is a mobile role and involves travelling to different venues to deliver ArtMinds sessions.
A full driving licence and access to your own car are essential.
Mileage will be paid for travel between ArtMinds jobs and venues. Mileage will not be paid for travel from your home to your first job of the day, or from your final job back home.
Safeguarding and DBS
As this role involves working with children and potentially vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
ArtMinds will arrange and pay for the Enhanced DBS check for the successful candidate.
Appointment to the role will be subject to satisfactory safeguarding checks.
Pay
£17 per hour
Freelance / Self-Employed Position
This position is offered on a freelance/self-employed basis rather than as an employed role.
The successful candidate will invoice ArtMinds monthly for the hours they have worked and will be responsible for managing their own tax and National Insurance obligations.
You will therefore need to be registered, or willing to register, as self-employed.
