Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) partners closely with customers to design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications, bridging business needs with production-ready technical solutions. This role combines hands-on software engineering, applied AI, and direct client engagement in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand business and technical requirements
• Translate requirements into solution designs and implementation plans
• Develop and deploy production-grade applications (Python, JavaScript)
• Build and integrate LLM-based and Generative AI solutions (e.g., RAG, agents)
• Design AI workflows, evaluation frameworks, and deployment pipelines (MLOps/LLMOps)
• Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into enterprise systems
• Identify risks and ensure scalable, reliable, and high-quality delivery

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or technical delivery roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and/or JavaScript
• Experience building APIs, backend systems, and end-to-end applications
• Proven experience with LLMs, Generative AI, and RAG workflows
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern deployment practices (CI/CD, containers)
• Familiarity with MLOps/LLMOps and AI system lifecycle management
• Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Business-level Japanese proficiency
• Experience with enterprise systems and large-scale deployments
• Knowledge of data security and governance
• Experience in fast-paced or startup environments
• Strong English communication skills
