Job Description AI/NLP Engineer (Project Basis)

About the Project

We're a growing product team building an intelligent hiring/recruitment platform. We're looking for a hands-on AI/NLP engineer to build a core matching engine — one that can take a job description (or even an unstructured input like an email thread describing a role) and intelligently match it against a large candidate database.

What You'll Build

• An NLP pipeline that parses and understands job requirements from structured and unstructured text
• A semantic matching/ranking system to surface the most relevant candidates from a large existing database
• Integration of this engine into an existing web application

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with NLP — embeddings, semantic search, entity extraction, text classification
• Comfortable working with real-world, messy, unstructured text data
• Experience with Django (backend integration) is a strong plus
• Some frontend capability (basic UI work to expose the matching output) is a strong plus
• Prior experience with resume parsing, recommendation systems, or search/ranking systems is a bonus
• Ability to scope, build, and ship independently with minimal hand-holding

• Project basis (fixed scope, not a full-time role)
• Fully remote
