Artificial Intelligence Engineer

This is an exceptional opportunity for a SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER to become a SENIOR AI ENGINEER for a leading iGaming company, building and productionising AI-driven products at scale.

This role is based in either CAPE TOWN or DURBAN, paying R1.6 - R1.8M PA.

The scale of the business creates huge volumes of real-time user, transactional and behavioural data, giving the AI team the opportunity to build intelligent products that solve genuine commercial problems.

You'll join an established AI team with live products already in production, working on systems that support areas such as player retention, personalisation and game recommendations.

THE ROLE:

As a Senior AI Engineer, you'll use your software engineering background to build, deploy and maintain AI-driven systems in a large-scale production environment.

You'll work across projects including game recommendation platforms, player chatbots and personalisation systems, gaining exposure to LLM applications, AI agents, recommendation engines, predictive analytics and NLP.

This is a particularly strong opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer who has already gained some exposure to AI or Machine Learning and now wants to specialise further in AI Engineering.

You'll be involved across the full lifecycle, from solution design and development through to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement, while working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.

TECH STACK:

C#, .NET, Python, AWS, SageMaker, MLflow, Airflow, Kubeflow, LangChain, LangGraph, Docker, Vector Databases and Feature Stores.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

5+ years' commercial Software Engineering experience

Strong C#/.NET experience

Strong AWS experience

Python experience

Exposure to AI, Machine Learning or AI-driven applications

Experience building and maintaining production software systems

Understanding of cloud deployment and scalable software architecture

Interest in specialising further in AI Engineering

Exposure to AI/ML tooling such as SageMaker, MLflow, LangChain or similar would be advantageous
