Position Overview:

HF Tech is seeking an experienced Asbestos Abatement Technician with a strong background in asbestos removal, containment, and hazardous material handling. The ideal candidate will have completed accredited asbestos worker training, possess applicable certifications, and have hands-on experience performing asbestos abatement in industrial and commercial environments.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of asbestos-related hazards, respiratory protection, decontamination procedures, and regulatory requirements while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform asbestos removal, containment, and abatement activities in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations.
• Establish and maintain asbestos containment areas, including critical barriers, negative air machines, and decontamination units.
• Safely remove, package, label, and prepare asbestos-containing materials for proper disposal.
• Operate HEPA-filtered vacuums, negative air machines, and other asbestos abatement equipment.
• Follow proper respiratory protection, PPE, and decontamination procedures.
• Conduct equipment inspections and maintain safe, organized work areas.
• Follow site-specific safety plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and established standard operating procedures.
• Assist with demolition and hazardous material remediation projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited asbestos worker training program appropriate to the work performed.
• Current asbestos worker accreditation or certification as required by applicable regulations.
• Knowledge of asbestos containment, removal, handling, and disposal procedures.
• Understanding of respiratory protection requirements and proper PPE usage.
• Familiarity with OSHA asbestos standards, including 29 CFR 1926.1101.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in regulated environments.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on asbestos abatement experience.
• Current asbestos supervisor accreditation.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• RCRA hazardous waste training.
• Confined Space Entry training.
• Experience with industrial demolition and environmental remediation.
• Experience working in semiconductor or other industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with negative pressure containment systems and air monitoring procedures.
