Duties

• Operate asphalt milling machines with precision, ensuring accurate removal of existing pavement according to project specifications
• Perform routine maintenance and mechanical checks on milling equipment to keep machinery running smoothly and safely
• Coordinate with crew members to set up and adjust screeds for optimal milling depth and surface quality
• Follow safety regulations and protocols diligently to maintain a secure construction environment at all times
• Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting paving equipment, as needed on site
• Support asphalt paving and finishing tasks by operating related heavy machinery
• Conduct basic math calculations for measurements and project adjustments to ensure accuracy in operations

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery, particularly paving equipment and asphalt milling machines
• Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with bituminous materials used in asphalt paving processes
• Ability to drive commercial trucks and operate commercial vehicles safely in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, including OSHA standards and site-specific safety protocols
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and project documentation
• Prior experience working on civil infrastructure projects involving heavy equipment operation and construction site activities
• Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocol guidelines at all times
