Asphalt Plant Operator

Benevento Companies, a premier supplier of construction materials in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, is seeking a dependable and experienced Asphalt Drum Plant Operator to oversee the production activities of our Wilmington, MA location. This position is responsible for producing high-quality asphalt while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust asphalt plant equipment and computerized control systems.
• Manage daily asphalt production to meet quality standards, production schedules, and customer demands.
• Coordinate with dispatch, quality control, maintenance, and management to ensure timely product delivery.
• Monitor material inventories and communicate supply needs.
• Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and operational records.
• Inspect plant equipment and identify mechanical or operational issues.
• Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance activities as needed.
• Perform routine housekeeping, plant cleanup, and general facility maintenance.
• Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operating procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience operating an asphalt plant, aggregate plant, or similar industrial facility preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with plant automation and control systems.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
• Ability to work around dust, noise, and moving equipment.

Pay Range: $32.00 – $42.00 per hour
